Baby You're a Firework! - Happy Independence Day America!

Happy Independence Day to all of my American friends!
I hope you all have some fun things going on today no matter what you're doing!
I plan on spending some time with loved ones and enjoying the holiday.

There's always so many different things going on in the crafty world and sometimes it's so hard to keep up with everything, but I wanted to let you know that I have so many different things going on in the works behind the scenes here, so it will just take time to get it all put together, but I will get there, I promise! :)  In the meantime, I hope you will enjoy what I'm sharing with you!

Today, In honor of this special holiday, I have this card to share with you:
I had so much fun making the background on this card!
I wanted to be sure to use some watercolor on my creation because I have heard somewhere that this is actually World Watercolor Month!  (CLICK HERE for further details!)

I have started with a watered down piece of watercolor paper and then added some blue and purple colors from my Zig Kuretake Gansi Tambi watercolor palette.  I let it dry and then repeated the process again to get a darker look.  After letting it dry the second time, I took some Frost White Fantastix Ink and loaded my paint brush with it to create some splatters for the stars in the background.  After that was dry, I removed the painters tape around the edge and then took some Black Soot Distress Ink to sponge around the edges for an even darker appearance.

After completing my background, I took the Lawn Fawn Stitched Fireworks die and die cut them out in the places I wanted my fireworks on the background panel.  I used some shimmer chalks to create the red and blue firework colors.  For the smaller one on the left I took some Platinum Inka-Gold and rubbed some of that with my finger tool over it.  All of the sparkle came from the coordinating colors of Stickles glitter glue I had in my stash.

I've also cut a black border panel with the LF Forest Border die and then I also cut a green piece with the LF Grassy Hillside Borders.  (I just turned the border panels at an angle I wanted them to appear on my card.)  I layered my watercolor panel over a piece of glitter paper and also cut out the sentiment at the bottom with the same paper using the LF Fancy Box die set.  I attached the layered panel onto a piece of A2 sized top folding black card base.  I took the grassy hill border strip and glued it across the entire bottom portion of the card.

Lastly, I stamped, colored with my Copic markers and cut out the cute furry critters from the LF Upon a Star stamp set and dies.  I tucked them in behind the grassy hill border and glued them down along with the glittery sentiment at the bottom.

Here's a closer view of all the sparkle:
You can really see the glitter and shine from the fireworks, but you can also see the shimmer coming from the splattered stars as well as the glittery paper border and sentiment.
This was such a fun card to make and I know I'll be using this set again!  I don't normally send out any July 4th cards, so with the sentiment being "yay", I thought this could work for different ocassions other than that which I like too!

I hope you've enjoyed my creation today!
Thanks so much for dropping in and hope you have a safe and fun July 4th Holiday.

I know this may be a little cliche, but I have always loved this song and thought it went well with my card and the celebration of today, so if you'd like some music...enjoy this video!
